Bellingham hotels precruise

Has anyone stayed in Bellingham before departing from Vancouver? I am looking at the Hampton Inn.

PJ's Mom, Bellingham,WA is a small college town but not much going on there. Hotels and motels are just off the freeway and you'd still have an hour drive to get to the VancouverBC area--which is very spread out and easy to get lost IMHO! Crossing the border into BC is not always quick these days with security issues...so I would suggest staying somewhere in Vancouver. Then you're not stuck if they close the border for hours! Have you checked www.biddingfortravel.com? Look there for your destination and anyone w/a successful priceline bid on your same date or close to it. There are alot of hotels on Robson St. downtown--good safe area w/restaurants and shops. When are you going?
