Texas_cruiser Posted July 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2006 We're planning a cruisetour for 9 of our family (ages 7-83) next summer. I'm leaning toward RCI since we've sailed with them the most and really love the line. (Our first cruise to Alaska was on Princess - very nice, but we still prefer RCI.) Question: some of the land tours use "deluxe motorcoaches" and other use a combination of motocoaches and traincars (Wilderness Express). Any opinions on which are better for both viewing and traveling comfort? Thanks for the information! Chenega Posted July 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 2, 2006 If you can, take the train. Parts go through areas not covered by the road.
Budget Queen Posted July 3, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2006 You might also want to look at some private tours, since cruisetours are the most costly option and extremely few, if any kids. You need time for the train, so if you continue with a cruisetour, look at 7 days. Most important, do your homework and know exactly what you are purchasing. There is plenty not disclosed and a lot of differences. There also may be a http://www.toursaver.com offer next year that can offer significant savings via rail??
