kobe Posted July 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2006 Hi, We fly in to Fort Lauderdale on Friday and cruise out of Miami on Sunday. We keep going back and forth on where to stay. Does it make sense to hang out in Fort Lauderdale for the day and a half and then get transportation to the Miami port or is is better to head to Miami and find a hotel there? We really weren't planning on renting a car - although it could be an option. All suggestions welcome. Thanks
kobe Posted July 5, 2006 Author #2 Share Posted July 5, 2006 We're still weighing the options - are there hotels in either area that are right on the beach? We would be happy to just hang out for the day. Thanks
pooh1bear43113 Posted July 6, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2006 We fly into FLL and take a limo (shared ride service available at FLL for $15-$17 to Miami) to the Holiday Inn Biscayne Bay in Miami. It is right across from the Bay-side Marketplace - on the water. Lots of entertainment, restaurants, etc. Nice to have a place to go at night without having to have a rental car of hire a cab. The day we board the ship, we grab a cab outside the HI and it's a short hop over the bridge to the terminal (can see it from Bayside area). No beach - but a nice hotel and a great place to "hang out" day or so prior to your cruise. (IMHO that is. We've done it the last several cruises out of Miami and really enjoyed the experience - but we are no longer interested in spending time on the beach....)
