Hi All,

Not to confuse you but the message was starting to become lost at the end. The thread from the beginning is attached below.

Hi All,

Well it's 1215AM on the 7th and another day has passed. One more full day to go till the Party Is Over. This day will be our first full day at sea before landing at Redhook early Saturday Morning. Received the program for today early on and it is chuck full of activities to satisfy anybody. We are hoping for good weather for alot of open door on deck use.

I said I was going to mention those that attended the CC gathering in the Commodore Club the first evening and they are (including their families and/or friends) Besty's Mom, ESLO, Cruiseking/Cq6, Clecat, Bill & Ray, Cruiseshelly, Sab490, 2 Cruisers From Ga. and Msk68. Their were some others in the smoking area that did not come over as we were in the Non-Smoke Area. It was truly pleasure meeting all of them. I do say I'm Sorry if I have gotten anyone's name wrong at the meet. Also if I met them thru the cruise. I've been trying to remember their names and handles from the Forum. I have also in the past told them I was leaving this each day and they are also welcome to adjust or correct me if I maybe wrong in my postings.

Just left the Kings Court-La Piazza after making a deposit to my waistline. Met Clecat also having a snack up there. Last Night from 11AM to 4AM is Italian Night up there. Interesting food and tried abit of all. Also met Malinda 1229 after the Royal Court Show.

Today we arrived early about 630AM with the Pilot boat at the mouth of the Halifax Harbor. We proceeded up the river backward to dock at Pier 21 so we would leave straight later that evening.

We were as in the past been greeted by a piper at the pier. Also heavy harbor PD lauchers to guide us in. Many people had to hit the eateries since many tours were going out early that morning. By the time we left for our tour in the afternoon about 1:00PM, we were not aware of local's having a craft fair in the pier with their local wares. We missed it as we were the last bus to come back. If we knew we would have been down earlier and see and shop.

Our tour was the Cunard/White Star Halifax connection. It was 3 hours long. We visited many sites related to Sam Cunards birth and to his buildings, Also we went to the Martime Museum which we were on given 30 mins and could have used 2 hours alone. We visited the particular Titanic Part. It showed many pictures and artifacts that were returned from the site. Tableware, Original Deck Chair, Clothing and also pieces of the furniture. A piece of wall from the Grand Staircase, an officers shirt and also pieces of lifepreserver from those pulled in that died. One piece was from the life preserver of Mrs. Astor after they found her body. Sad to view should a collection while on a cruise especially Cunard's ship. We are having a great time and those people were not able to complete their experience. We also visited with utmost respect the Fairview Cemetery where many were buried from the accident on their return to shore. All ages and sexs. Named and Unknown. Simple stone or better one provided by their families or White Star themselves. Even visited the grave of one of the Radio Operators.

We finally headed back to the ship as it was leaving at 5PM. Also it is Formal Night and also the Black & White Ball in the Queens Room. Dinner was extra special selection offered. We also had the traditional Parade of Chefs thru the Dining Room of the Brit. All cheered on the staff for their efforts. Dinner was great but time for a great show. The QM2 Singers and Dancers did an outstanding Variety Show that topped the evening. It even went a full hour.

Then we proceeded to the Queens Room for the Black & White Ball. It was packed to the doors with all dressed to the nines. Paul Richie was preforming along with Social Hostess and also our Dancing Champion Couple. They gave a great preformance. Also Paul was giving dance lessons for all to participate. And tonite they Crowned the first Queen For The Cruise. Each lady got a number and it was pulled at 11PM. It was Alice from Long Island. They dressed her with a Crown and Robe and paraded her around the dance floor are we cheer and bowed to her. Also she recieved a bottle champagne and gift. All are to honor her if they see her till she leaves on Saturday morn.

The Queen Room was dressed up in Black & White. Really great!

Unfortuately we all recieved our final instructions for Saturday morning and will start them later tonight. Oh well?

Well time to go to catch some ZZZZZ's.

Yes, may of us have signed the CC log in the Bookstore. The book still has 3/4's of it's pages empty to go. LET'S SIGN THEM IN THE FUTURE. Many of us on this cruise has does so. The Librarian is very helpful to hand you the book.

Interesting reading others comments.

Need to move the clock back this evening. Will try to post more before leaving the ship.

Thank you for all your support and also meeting so many beautiful people. Cruise Critics are wonderful people to cruise with no less write on this board to.

Till Next Time.........

Hi All,

Well the cruise from Monday to Saturday has reached it's completion. Tomorrow Morning at 330 we will be approaching Ambrose Lightower, 430 the VZ bridge, 530 Statue of Liberty and 6AM tie up along side the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, RedHook, Brooklyn, NY where it all began.

Today was outstanding weather from mid morning on with a beautiful sunset. We tried to fit everything in on the only one day at sea and it proofs a point, a 5 day party cruise which is what this was labeled as, is not enough time to get familiar with a new ship. We are seriously thinking of booking the next trip next year on the QM2. It should be at least 10-11 days to really get the full benefits. Days at sea is the secert of this game plan.

Just visited the Kings Court for the last time on this trip. Quite busy. Casinos are busy as many have taken care of their luggage earlier on.

I had a very interesting program that I attended today in the theatre. Don who became familiar with our trip thread and wanted to join us gave a very interesting talk about Martime & Shipping Now & In The Future. He also approached both types Passenger Cruise Ships and Navy Vessels. He is a Designer for the US Navy. His talk for about 45 minutes was very interesting and also informative about the future designs and safety factors the industries have to use.

I attempted the rest of the day to do some photo shots that will last into the evening with pictures I was unable to get. I also made a donation to the Mayfair shops with presents for friends at the Trauma Center that I work at.

My wife and parents attended the tea in the Queens Room while I attended to the last of the packing. I treated myself with a tea service in our cabin while packing. When finished I went down to the Queens Room to watch the Passenger Talent Show. I was good and it was poor. Alot of talent from very good performers but there were some that should have stepped out of the limelight. But they tried their best.

We proceed to our Last Supper, and enjoyed it till the next time. I was sad to say Goodbye to our waiter, Jacob. Also to our Wine Steward - Cranston and Asst Capt. Alex. in the Brit Dining Room.

We later proceeded to the Royal Court Theatre and saw the QM2 dancers put on a real good preshow. Then we had a wonderful singer Paul Emmanuel from the UK. His was GREAT. If ever have the opportunity to see him onboard, do so. Took a walk around the 7th Deck and headed for the Kings Court.

On our yesterday tour, after returning I thought I remembered some one I knew. I thought it was Colin Parker that was on the QE2 many times as CD for many of our cruises. No it was Richard his brother and he was our Tour Office Director. Colin has left Cunard and has his own business and taking care of a family. Also we asked about Elaine Mackay of the QE2 who we miss very much. Richard told us that she is doing about 4-5 QE2 trips a year and is getting close to retirement.

Well, closing down and started back to the cabin for a sleep till this morning.

Till next time.......

Regards,

:) ESLO
