It failed to reach its reserve; highest bid was just over $1000. No idea what the reserve was.

You might try e-mailing the seller. I have done this before with items that did not sell, and have negotiated a price that worked for both of us.

 

I note it has been re-listed though. They may eventually decide they won't get their reserve and drop the price.
