Christine in MO Posted July 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2006 We will be on the Conquest in December and have a balcony cabin on deck 10 on the starboard side (which is the side that is usually docked on Sunday's in Galveston). Assuming we are not still in the muster drill during sail-away should we enjoy it from the privacy of our own balcony or out in one of the public areas? caribbean dreams Posted July 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2006 We will be on the Conquest in December and have a balcony cabin on deck 10 on the starboard side (which is the side that is usually docked on Sunday's in Galveston). Assuming we are not still in the muster drill during sail-away should we enjoy it from the privacy of our own balcony or out in one of the public areas? I personally always enjoy being on the pool deck, it just seems to let me know that vacation has officially started with all the people out on deck and the caribbean music playing as the ship pulls away from the pier. Snoozeman Posted July 8, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2006 The best place to see the dolphins is from the aft. Not the only place from the ship they can be seen, but the easiest.;)
Rare silentbob007 Posted July 8, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2006 I enjoy being on one of the upper decks. That's where the action (and drinks) are ... ;)
mikesteg Posted July 8, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 8, 2006 There isn't actually much of Galveston to be seen beyond the pier, if that is what you're considering. Even at slow speed while in the channel, it's maybe only 20-25 minutes and that is mostly what you can see when docked. Plus, on the port side is Seahawk park and the beached submarine, plus the breakwater and usually any other vessels (for whatever reason). If you want to have some privacy, use the balcony. If you want to be with the group, go up on deck. Definitely a decision to be made on the day. :D Mike
