NaplesCruiser Posted July 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2006 We are going on the 10 day Southern Caribbean cruise, first time on HAL, and at the ports; welcome suggestions for what to do at all the ports. Any HAL offered excursions worthwhile, or should we plan our own independently? We also welcome any other “Hints”, ”Wish we would have done”, “Will do next time”, or any other advice from anyone who has sailed this itinerary on the Volendam. Thanks!!!!! gizmo Posted July 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2006 It depends on what you like to do in port. The ports of call boards have lots of information about each island.

mafig Posted July 10, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2006 I have the same questions and I do visit the Ports of Call boards. However, sometimes there is a special excursion that stands out from the rest thatis booked through the cruiseline. The last time I looked there were no excursions listed for Dominica. That may have changed; I don't go on HA's website that often, because it's so slow.
gizmo Posted July 10, 2006 #6 Share Posted July 10, 2006 You will have to wait until Hal gets the site fix. I looked Sunday and there were a number of excursions for Dominica. I think the key was not to search using your booking number, just use Dominica. I realize this doesn't help if you want to book something, but it does give you an idea of what is available. You could probably call Hal and book it that way.
