larterpc Posted July 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2006 We will be taking the Norwegiian Spirit from New York on August 13. We haven't yet gotten air fare. We will be flying into either JFK or LaGuardia whichever is the least expensive air fare. What is the best mode of transportation and price from either JFK or Laguardia to the cruise ship terminal used by NCL? Thanks.
trish1c Posted July 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2006 Least expensive would be some sort of public transportation like a subway or bus. Take a cab.
smeyer418 Posted July 10, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2006 There are a number of relatively inexpensive ways(including NY Taxi's). There is also www.supershuttle.com that is about 15-20 per person each way. This is not that much cheaper than a cab for two(in fact from Laguardia a cab for two is cheaper). Cab from the airport LGa to NY Passenger ship terminal metered at about $25.00(over the 59th street bridge) plus tip From Kennedy JFK a fixed amount from the aiprort of $45.00 plus toll and tip. Back its metered(the cab have a meter that clicks per 1/6 mile and 2 minute wait time) and is about the same $45.00 to Kennedy and the same $25.00 to LGA. You can do public transportation which will take you much longer. From Kennedy the AirTran to Jamaica Station $5.00 per person a metro card $2.00 take the E train to 50th street and then the cross town bus to 12th Avenue(where the pier is) Total $7.00 LGA you take the Bus again the the train station if you get a Metrocard at the airport it will only be $2.00 pp. BUt this is complicated the chances of getting lost are good and its allot of up and down on stairs.
