Friday July 7th 7th Day

Well this day always is hard going saying good bye to friends and mates aboard a great cruise ship. Then with the rain all day added to the fun no sun. We had break feast the usually in Garden Gafe around 10:00 A.M. still trying to figure out what happen the night before in the Quest. We then pasted on the Disembarkation Talk we have heard this many times in the past and stupid cruise questions. We then went to the Free Cruise

Giveaway Bingo Suzann had several tickets due to the peel back tickets. After watching several games of regular Bingo they had drawing no luck. We then had lunch in dinning room Venetian we both though it was on weak side selection we didn’t like we both had a burger and some soup was a good day for it.

Suzann then went to purser desk to get copy of bill and wanted to know who the concierge answer to and what was his duty, we got a reply back from girl who we didn’t get her name did you read the letter that was left in your room last Saturday, first bad attitude of anyone during the cruise. I do not put up with that and told her I will follow up Guest Relations NCL main office and walked away. Yes we were not happy with the concierge. He did not call our cabin once during the cruise or make Specialty Restaurants reservations for us after we told him about them ( A total waste in my eyes).

We then bumped into Barbara and Bob Cruise Critic members in Blue Lagoon and chatted a few with them and confirmed our dinner date for the evening. Suzann then went back to room to pack. I went over to casino and watch several Cruise Critic members playing Texas Hold ‘em appeared they were winning. I played the roulette wheel with no luck and also some Texas Hold’em with them no luck. We also tried our luck in Blackjack Tournament with no luck. Also cheer Shell Cruise Critic member in final of Slot Tournament. I went back to room and was amazed Suzann told me that she got a call from Concierge (amazing how word gets out that you were pissed off) checking up on us. Then he called back and wanted to know if we got our VIP tags. 2 calls in one day I was shocked. I mention this day before to Neil during Future Cruise talk.

That evening we had dinner with Barbara and Bob and it was great sharing personal stories about how me and Suzann meet on a blind date and how we broke up because I was involved with Political affairs and how we got back to together after I lost a re-election bid by 42 votes (yes a hard breaker). We also compared our favorite cruise line to NCL it was fun and interesting. We had ribs again that night and we killed 2 bottles of wine that evening with chat and dinner it was great way to end a wonderful cruise. About 3 hours later we hugged kissed and said good bye with a tear in our eyes. We would cruise in a heart beat with this couple truly down to earth and our speed. I also dared Barbara to come on a cruise we have booked in October of 07 called the Cruise Critic Saints and Sinner #3 and I told her if she books that cruise we would go on pearl in Feb. 07 the groundhogs cruise with her, we will see. Keith is Mattered for Salsa and does a great job and has an outstanding way about him and wit great job.

Suzann went back to cabin to put out luggages I went back to show room and caught end of Farewell Variety Show and had a 10 minute chat with Matt Baker Cruise Director after the show in the hallway, I told Matt he was very good and I ask what his plans would be, he is on Dawn until October and will go on vacation for several months and was schedule to come back to Dawn in January but that appears to be changed and will bring out the Pearl in December I wish him well as he left to go to Farewell Dance

Party in Spinnaker Lounger. I was shocked to see the Cruise Director hosting events on the last night of a cruise very nice touch. I then went into casino and ran into Margaret-Kevin and Melanie all playing cards again. Few minutes later Warren joined them and asked me if I still wanted to see there Owner’s Suite ( there is a story behind this because we asked several times during week, they paid 200 dollars less for this cabin then I did for Romantic Suite) I had to see this cabin for my own eyes and I did. It was great cabin

twice the size of our and I told him if he didn’t party hard all week with that cabin he was a fool and he told me they had fun with a big smile on face (nice job mates). The bed was almost the size of our cabin and the balcony twice the size with 3 TV sets and two showers amazing. I would book it next time in a heart beat. After we came back down to Casino and wished all a safe trip home and a good night.

Comments; Fire and Ice played in Dazzles Lounge during week excellent sounds. I will follow up with NCL about price I paid and service I got from Concierge I am not use to be treated like this bottom line and will expect a follow up from NCL. Suzann did miss the 24/7 soft ice cream during the cruise, food for lunch could have been better at times, I really miss my piano bar late at night, but overall the ship was very clean, crew and staff very upbeat and warm feeling like part of a family. Treats in afternoon were very good handled by Butler Lucky. Get off ship was very easy placed in VIP holding area and then off as a group. Overall I would give this cruise an A could have been a A+. We will be back on a NCL cruise.

In closing; I have a serious health problem at start of cruise I couldn’t get up stairs in terminal in NY without pulling me up step by step no strength, I couldn’t walk thru terminal or hallway of ship without getting beat, I couldn’t get up out of chairs on pool deck without Suzann help and support at start of cruise. I swear that I couldn’t make it with cabin in aft of ship. As the week went on I got stronger and stronger did not need help to get up from pool chairs and could walk up and down hallways with no problems. It is amazing what a great cruise and with the right people and right cruise ship can do. Thank you; NCL, thank you Barbara and Bob and other cruise critic members and thank you Suzann and God for a great week. I love you all.

Thank you for your review. Have you had a chance to post your pictures of the cabin. If given a choice between the aft cabin and owners cabin which would you take? Would it be correct to say that the aft has less wind on the ba?

i was shocked how smooth the ride was in back of ship, once we got use to walk all the way in the aft, it was a great cabin, (should be for price we paid-paid more then owner suite went for on this cruise). suzann had banners american flags taped to back and they didnt even blow away, I though they would another great was no slamming doors no noise it was quiet back there
