    • I prefer sunrises.
    • I prefer sunsets.
    • I enjoy both equally.

Happy Autumn (two days early due to travel)...

Two days early works better for me because the mountains block the horizon.

Hi there!

:)Great pics jimmy!!!!!

CONQUEST_bench_sunrise.JPG

The more time I spend lookin' at this picture the more I see. It is stunning as related to cruising.

I think it captures so much, 'Da Funnel', walk way, and a sunset at sea, etc.

On our next cruise ,Thanksgiving week, I am going to look for something like this.

Do you have any "background' info about this, or is it just one of those random moments.?

JimmyJames

PS> I hope this is not a "Photoshop" picture, BUT, if it is, it is a very good job of blending/combing or what they call it.

Advice from a Longhorn to an Aggie

Dear Aggie,

The shock and awe of a sunset and/or sunrise depends on the following:

1) Relative position of the sun to the camera...behind, front, low, very low...etc

2) The quality of the gear ... wideangle, large f stop f(f2.8), pixels, filter, etc with cheap gear you can lose almost all the effect

3) The dramatics of weather ... best is storm clouds (coming or going) bright sun peaking through horizon... if you got that (sunrise or sunset) its will be shock and awe ... especially with a great sea/land scape and a wide andle lens (at least 110 degee angle)

Regards,

PS: I will be thinking of you 11/26/2009 --- Hook-em horns!!
