Romy40 Posted July 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2006 We've booked Stirling Suites for pre-cruise night's stay. Anyone stayed there?
signman Posted July 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2006 All these people stayed there. Some even lived to tell about it. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g34168-d87228-r5429239-Stirling_Suites_Ft_Lauderdale_Airport-Dania_Florida.html This one's at your own risk. dougp26364 Posted July 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2006 This was a management responce to the bad reviews this hotel has received. "The Stirling Suites, Dania Beach, formerly The SpringHill Suites by Marriott, was recently purchased by JHM Hotels, of Greenville, SC, a well - respected owner / operator of Hilton, Marriott and other franchises. Since the purchase of the hotel on 5/2/06, JHM and local management has been very busy working on cleanliness and service issues. We are in the planning stages of a renovation that will include exterior building, landscaping, lobby, guest room corridors as well as a complete replacement of carpeting, A/C units, room furnishings and bedding as well as mattresses. It is JHM's plan to re-flag to a major upscale franchise within the next 4 - 6 months. While we are aware there have been issues with the hotel in the past, we feel confident that the hotel's levels of service, cleanliness and accommodations are already improving dramatically. Our best is yet to come! Sincerely, J. Crotteau, General Manager" Amazingly, the next three reviews, one in May and two in June, are pleasantly upbeat. Unfortunately, I smell a rat and suspect these are not the reviews of guests but employee's. While renovations may be planned, it would take some time to get them competed so quickly. Especially in a state still repairing itself from the ravages of several hurricane's. Until this hotel is "reflagged" by a major hotel chain, I'd look somewhere else. Bequia Posted July 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2006 I'd contact J. Crotteau, General Manager ((954) 920-9696) and speak with him directly about my concerns. If no such person exists, move on. ....;) . .
