Sandy Bay area of Roatan

I have been searching for information on the Sandy Bay area on the north coast of Roatan. Has anyone been to the beach there and, if so, what is it like? Is the snorkeling good and are there facilities (food,drink, restrooms) available. I will appreciate any input.

We visited there a couple of years ago on the Tahetian Princess. W rented a scooter and traversed the entire island found nice beach areas as well as restaurants ,do not know if we were north or south we did stop along the road at a deserted beach and swam and had lunch at a restaurant in the same place. Hope that helps

I have been to Roatan on both a cruise stop and for a week long visit. The Mayan Princess has a nice beach, as does Fantasy Island and Tabayana Beach to name a few. The reef there is world famous, if you like to dive you can think about Anthony's Key Resort (Which is in Sandy Bay) and they can assist you with a dive package.
