Desert Cruisers Posted July 18, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2006 Thailand is hot and humid all year long. Some months are rainier than others. We spent time there in August a few years ago and there was some rain but not enough to ruin our adventures.
edinburgher Posted July 21, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2006 http://www.spiceroads.com/weather/thailand_south.html We have been twice, to central and southern Thailand. We went once in April, once in February. Both were VERY hot but not too wet, although we still had some very heavy showers and local flooding. I believe its much worse during the rainy season. cruiseerf Posted September 19, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 19, 2006 Hello: Thailand and Bangkok's winter season is Nov,Dec,January. That said it can rain in the Islands down south in January but this is more of a remote possibility. The nice thing about visiting at this time is that it is cooler and at night it is lovely. In the north in Chiang Mai you will be wearing a jacket at night as it cools down that much. Enjoy.
Spikesgirl Posted September 19, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2006 Perhaps we hit a fluke, but we were in Bangkok in July and, yes, the weather was warm and humid, but there was but one short shower on the first afternoon and that was it. It was sunny and glorious the rest of the time. It's tropical there, it's always going to be hot and humid, so I'd plan to avoid the winter/rainy season and take a good hat and fan with you. It was a fabulous country and the people were especially lovely there. Tehir peddlers and beggers were less aggressive than other stops and they seemed genuinely glad to see you. i'd go back in a heart beat.
