How to book my shore excursions?

My husband and I are going on the Veendam this month on an Alaska SB. We stop in Juneau, Haines, and Ketchikan. Is it best to book my shore excursions through the cruise line? Or can I save money booking independently?

It's not usually about money with independent tours, but you can get a way superior experience with some wonderful venders. Look over your shore excursion list and narrow down your interests first. Then compare bookings.

If you haven't considered it, your TOP tour choice in my opinion will be a Kenai Fjords boat ride. If you can, consider it prior to boarding your ship, no rush to get on, there is so much in Seward to see and do. Make the most of your time.
