Closest car rental in San Pedro that's open Sundays?

We are planning to rent a car and drive back to Sacramento when our ship comes in on the 29th of October. Unfortunately, it seems all the nearest car rental places are closed on Sundays.

 

Anyone know of one that isn't? Has anyone been in this predicament?

 

(We're flying from Sacramento to South Dakota for a friends wedding, then flying from South Dakota to Los Angeles for the cruise. Hence the need to rent a car.)

Your best bet is to take a shuttle or cab to the Long Beach airport and rent a car there. Have you considered flying from there to Sacramento? Between the cost of the car, the cost of gas, and the 8 hour drive, I would bet you could do just as well (if not better) flying Southwest from LAX. You can get a $49 internet-only fare right now. It would cost you about $50 for two to get to LAX via shuttle or cab.

Have you tried the Enterprise location across from the pier. They were going to be open for cruiser when I spoke to them last time. :D

Thanks for the advice! We ended up booking SW flights - at that price it was worth it!

 

Although now we're flying out of Burbank, but that shouldn't be too bad.
