a1moty Posted July 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2006 Does anyone know if you can just book the return portion of the transfer? We are planning to fly into Seattle early so we will get ourselves to the pier-- but wondered if it is possible to just book that back 1/2 transfer package? Also, if you booked your own airfare will HAL still do the luggage transfer to the airpaort for you? Last trip it was so nice not to have to hassle with our luggage until we arrived home.
lka1012 Posted July 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2006 Yes you can. I do it all the time. I do generally wait and book it on board, but that is not problem. I also fly in early and make my own way to the pier.
Rare Roz Posted July 17, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2006 You can purchase your return transfer onboard the ship thru the shore ex office. Not sure what you mean about the luggage. You'll ride a bus to the airport, the luggage will be unloaded, and then you'll claim it and check it in with the airline yourself. Does that answer your question. Navy_Chief Posted July 17, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2006 We did this as well in 2004 on Rotterdam. We stayed in Greece with family during the Olymic Games then boarded Rotterdam (which was there the whole time). When we got off in Harwich, we used a HAL transfer to get us to Heathrow. We booked our own air and the TA needed a flight number to set it up. I provided a "Perspective" flight number (it was too early to book the air) then later the TA confirmed our regular flight details with HAL and us. RedHeadTexan Posted July 18, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2006 I called HAL in June and was able to add a one-way transfer from the ship to the airport. There was no problem making the arrangements prior to the cruise.
