question for Budget Queen

In dbali's post of 7-15 titled Points of Interest - Anchorage to Seward? you suggested dropping off the rental car and using the vendor's shuttle to the ship. I am interested in doing this as we have this exact situation (rental car and would like to see Kenai Fjords the day we board the ship - RCCL with a 9pm departure.) My questions though - how does the vendor's shuttle work, and what do you do with your luggage after you drop the car off?

Drop off your bags at the ship. Return car to Hertz. Walk to Kenai fjords venders. (drop off passengers if needed at the dock office.). The Kenai Fjords vender will shuttle you to the ship. Verify this directly re the shuttles for current information. IF you are taking an early boat trip, you can drop off the passengers at the Kenai Fjords office, they will store your bags. Return car then walk back. At most 1/4 mile.
