1Canada Cruiser Posted July 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2006 We are considering taking an island tour, and feel we would take a taxi from the dockyards to the ferry that will take us to Hamilton. Does anybody know if this distance is walkable? About how much? Does anybody know if there are the large taxis. We have 13 in our group and would like to travel together if possible. We have been told taxis run about $36/hour, does this rate still stand? We will be on the Crown (if sailing) on August 25th.

The ferry can be taken directly from the Dockyard to Hamilton

No they don't have taxi's that hold 13. Bermuda is a civilized island. We had six in our taxi which was a van and I would say that is the limit. mibshubby Posted July 20, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2006 This is a good link to transportation on the island. http://www.bermudatourism.com/43.aspx One way tickets on the ferry are $4 for an adult but you can get booklets of tickets or day passes. The site has this information.
smeyer418 Posted July 20, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2006 The Dockyards runs a free shuttle bus that makes a loop around the dockyards. It leaves every 30 minutes. It picks up right in front of where you get off the ship and stops right by the entrance to the ferry. The Ferry is about 300 yards from where you get off the ship. If you need a bus for 13 you may want to contact the bus company. You may be better off renting one for a day..than multiple cabs.
