Flow Rider Question

Are these open when the ship is in port? And the new H2O zones?

I remembered reading in someone's FOS review that they decided to take advantage of using the flowrider while in port at Grand Caymans. If I come across the review, I'll post the link here if no one confirms this.:)

FlowRider will have open hours on port days. They'll post them in the cruise compass. H20Zone, like the pools, is always open (although they do shut down the sprinklers and stuff in the evening hours)

It is even open on embarkation day... DH tried it in the middle of the afternoon the day we boarded...not many in line either ..maybe 4-5 people

Yes, it had certain hours during the port days. I tried the flowrider on embarkation day too. :)

Go on the first day. You wont get hurt. If you go near the end and really enjoy it you might regret not going the whole week.

 

There is no additional charge and there were no reservations. Just go to the desk there, sign up, and get your wristband. Then you are good to go.

I would still post it because it gives people a good feel for how the schedule will look. I would just advise them that things might have changed.

I think our inaugural cruise compasses won't be a good indication for current cruisers on many schedules. Someone onboard told me everything was running really wide open during that first week, while they figured out everyone's patterns. Dining rooms, flowrider, etc.....

 

That's why I am eager to see if the experience is different in December, when schedules have been tightened up a bit.

Thanks, Patrick. Unless one of them undergoes a tremendous growth spurt in the next three months, I don't think any of the grandkids will qualify.:) The H20 zone should more than satisfy them, and I'll stick to the cantilevered hot tubs in the Solarium.:D

Are you going to try the boxing ring? And what are you doing for excursions? Sorry, I have no cruise planned for awhile and I am nosy!

No boxing ring for me. Not a violent person ordinarily.;)

No special plans for excursions, although we'll probably take everyone on a stingray excursion in GC. In Cozumel we will most likely go to Paradise beach. In MoBay we are wavering between Doctor's Cave beach and a day pass at Sunset Bay resort which has a nice water park for the grandkids. If I could interest my kids and their spouses in the canopy zipline, I might be tempted but I think we'll have to limit ourselves to things that include everyone including the grandkids. I also have been looking at the bubble submarine excursion in GC but couldn't find a price on my initial look at their website. Did the BOB in St. Thomas and enjoyed it, and this might be a similar experience.
