CamelliaCity Posted July 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2006 Does anyone have info on the transportation card/24 hours for Stockholm. Would it be better than the Stockholm card. We will take the train from Nynashamn to Stockholm, use a bus, a ferry, maybe a boat ride, and go to the Vasa. It seems that a transportation card would be better for us since we only have time for the Vasa Museum. Where do you buy the card in Nynashamn? Train station? Thanks to anyone that has information to share.
freddiebud Posted July 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2006 I had the same question. Found this website http://www.stockholmcruise.com/templates/importpage____1124.aspx It says it is 95 SEK or about $13 USD. A minimum ticket is 14 SEK or just under $2 and good for an hour. Hmmmm. That site is out of date. There are new fares this season. MTemple212 Posted July 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 24, 2006 We did the transportation card in early July. They sell them at the kiosk/newspaper stand right next to the platform where the train stops. The train station itself doesn't open until 8am. If you are on one of the first 2 or 3 tenders you may be able to catch the 7:37am train into Stockholm. We stood inline for tickets at the newspaper stand and still got our tickets in time to get on the train. Might want to get a bottle of water or soda when you buy your 24hr transportation pass. They also take credit cards. One other note: don't take the bus to the train station if you are on the first or second tender as you will have plenty of time to walk to the train station. Once you come out of the fenced in area, go to the main road and turn left. Then the road/sidewalk will curve right and then you will have to take left to walk uphill and back down again to the train station. I didn't take the right curve and just walked as far along near the fence as I could and this other sidewalk/path came right back up to the other sidewalk without having to go uphill before reaching the train station. Very easy to do.
