Dave85 Posted July 28, 2006 #276 Share Posted July 28, 2006 Oops my bad, I didn't see this thread on page 1 when I posted a new one. But to repeat myself anyway, friend called from EOS (boarded today) and it is indeed 21+. Sorry for the double post.
burger40 Posted July 28, 2006 #277 Share Posted July 28, 2006 Hi Dave85...Does your friend happen to know the age to get into Disco and Casino now? Was 18...but wonder if it's also 21 under the new policy....
navigator2006 Posted July 28, 2006 #278 Share Posted July 28, 2006 I talked to RCCL customer service and I told them that on crusingpower.com it says that the casino age is 21 and the customer service guy called a lady who he called a "casino rep" for the cruise line and she said that she has gotten several calls about this today and it is still 18 to get into the casino and that she was going to tell cruisingpower to change it because it was a mistake. BearySweet2Cruise Posted July 31, 2006 #279 Share Posted July 31, 2006 Wanted to report back to let you know that the sailing we were on enchantment July 27th, did NOT have a restriction to the drinking waiver. My daughter is 18 and had no problem for purchasing alcohol on board. We had ZERO problem bring alcohol and the whole process went smoothly for embarking and disembarking. spectatorsports Posted August 1, 2006 #280 Share Posted August 1, 2006 What I am going to do in December is let other people buy me alcohol and if someone asks show them my altered drivers license that says I am 21.

Did you read the consequences of trying to circumvent the new policies? You might want to make sure you have alternate transportation back home from each of your scheduled port stops. Their entire party needs to make sure that they have enough cash or available credit. ###
spectatorsports Posted August 1, 2006 #284 Share Posted August 1, 2006 I don't care. I booked with the understanding that I could drink and that is exactly what I am going to do.

U.S. Immigration requires both a birth certificate (original or certified) and a current DL. If the dates on one do not match the other, you will very likely not even been allowed to board. These people are not idiots and a fake ID will not solve your problem. Nice of you to risk someone else's cruises so you can drink, BTW:rolleyes:. I'm only going to use it once I am onboard. I'll just get someone else to buy me drinks. If someone asks to see my ID then I'll show them my fake one. Does that make sense? Not to me, but then I have a problem with putting someone elses vacation on the line. The new policy holds them responsible for buying your drinks and can result in action being taken against them. IMO, that is selfish and irresponsible behavior.

Everyone is taking this whole getting kicked off thing too seriously. They aren't going to notice and even if they did they wouldn't care as long as I wasn't causing trouble. Why would they even question me if I had an ID showing I was 21? It's not like I am forcing them to buy me alcohol either. They are going to do it because it will be more fun for everyone if we can all drink together like we usually do.

caviargal Posted August 1, 2006 #298 Share Posted August 1, 2006 spectatorsport: First of all, by December the staff will have seen it all in terms of kids trying to get over on the new policies. Do you really think you will be the first? The only ID they are going to accept is a Seapass card. What makes you selfish is putting someone else at risk, be it a staff member who could lose their job for serving you or one of your buddies who thinks it's no big deal. I sincerely believe that they will indeed enforce these policies and am thrilled they are finally doing so.

They are going to serve an adult who is buying a round of drinks for the group I am with. They aren't going to notice that one of them is for me. They will have no choice to accept my drivers license if I don't have my Seapass with me.
