You probably meant this list "tongue in cheek" but actually a lot of them are very good questions that those of us who haven't been on Princess in awhile would like to know the answers to. I've probably seen the answers to most of them in one thread or another, but it sure would be good to have a permanent file (semi-permanent?) where the answers would be posted, rather than having to search through everything.

BTW--I've found both your posts to be extremely helpful for our CP 7/10 cruise--you're what I want to be when I grow up! SERIOUSLY--thanks so much!

Oh, those are good, and most of us ask them about every new ship we go on, but one that seems to be missing from the list is: ahem..........

Do we have to get dressed up for formal night when we dress up for work on a daily basis???? ;) Just helping out.......................

Here's one for ya....you've been to Mexico on the Diamond. "Party" ship or not? I'm hoping you're answer is toward the latter. What kind of crowd are we looking at here?

There is some partying going on but it is mostly confined to the areas intended for it, I would not call it a "party ship". Mostly Californians and people who cruise often. 40's, well mannered.

TexEm,

It wasn't really tongue in cheek, I deliberately didn't answer them all because I didn't want there to be one "authoritative" post. I really did mean we here at the boards are trying to help those who ask and the fun part is watching someone you gave information to proudly answering it for someone else. If I, or anyone else answered them all, thoses posts and topics and all the interaction we have here would lose some of the sparkle.

Okay, I have the answer to the first question! Off of the ship!!!! :D :D Especailly for crabby folks who never enjoy their cruise!!!!

(oh sorry, this post wasn't tongue in cheek!!!! ;) )

Maybe we need to send them to Misery cruise lines, ships: whine of the seas, S.S. Depression and AhDam.

You forgot one.....who has the best "coffee"... :p or maybe "what kind of coffee maker should I travel with?"

Thanks! :D

I am glad you are adding to it, I wasn't trying to get ALL of the questions but a good sampling, ok I will answer one.... COKE, not Pepsi.

How about

"How cool is the Air Conditioning in the Cabins?--should I take my portable fan in case it's too hot?"

"How easy or hard is it to email from the Ship's computers?"

"Do I have to stay in formal attire all evening on Formal Nights?"

These are three that I've seen!!! Just add them to the mix.

Steve,

I am glad you brought up these questions. i never would think to ask about popcorn.

I never thought about it, but IS popcorn available on board? If so, is buttered and salted or just plain?

Also, what IS horseracing? It must be something other than the obvious.

I also have a question about tendering. Do the tenders have scheduled return trips to the ship, or do they just go back and forth all day?

Great questions. Athough I already know the answers to almost all of them, it is fun just reading the answers you non-newbies (I'm too new to this board to know the word you have for yourselves) give and debate.

I truly have picked up some valuable tips reading responses to questions such as these...THANKS, you all are deeply appreciated.

I'll jump in with a couple of answers - not because I'm an experienced cruiser, but because I'm a very experienced follower of the wisdom of these boards. (And possibly because I just can't seem to keep my mouth shut!:D )

I'll start at the bottom with Steve's excellent list

Is the food better than XXX line? - Everyone has his/her own preferences. Whether the food is better or not is a matter of taste. The important thing is that the food is dependably good.

Can I order more than one entree? - Yes, and more than one dessert and more than one of anything else you want to eat.

Steve, I have a question to add to your list: Where do the beds come from in the quad rooms?

All right, you truly experienced types, it's time to start demonstrating your expertise. You've obviously got some pent-up demand growing here.

There are two twin beds on the bottom, and there are two beds on top attached to the wall, one on each side wall. At night the cabin steward pulls them down and turns down the beds, leaves a chocolate on the pillow, YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!, and puts them back up against the wall in the morning!! :)

I'd like the answer to the Popcorn question as well. Can't imagine a movie without popcorn. I've also heard recently of people missing their excursions because of long lines for tenders. Are you charged for missing these excursions for something out of your control. thanks for all your great answers.

I know that on the CP, they do serve popcorn at the movies under the stars. I do not know if it is buttered and salted. As far as tenders go, They do have early off #'s. I believe if you go to the pursers desk you can get the early ticket when informing them of the time of the excursion.

The Diamond does not serve popcorn, at least I didn't see any when I went to the movie.

Tip the room service guy each time you order because room service is not included in auto tip.

The newer movies shown on tv are free and not pay-per-view.

Ice cream is not free except from 3:30 - 3:30 by the Horizon Court or in the dining room.

The advantage of booking while on a cruise is that your deposit is only $100 pp, you get a shipboard credit from $25-$150 depending on type of stateroom, and you may take up to 4 years to decide on your cruise. If you decide you have changed your mind you may receive your money back. So, it's a no-lose deal.

Fly in the day before the cruise; why take any chances.

Those are a few of my answers.
