Identity of Cruise Director, Concierge, etc.

Last spring the cruise director was a man from Italy named Andrea. Does anyone know if he is still on the Gem?

We'll be sailing on the Jewel out of New York June 2010. Does anyone know who's on board? We have emailed Carlos Zarate, Concierge and it will be his last before his vacation. How about the Hotel Director? We are hoping for an upgrade as we are Platinum Latitudes members. We have been given an upgrade to a suite in the past and hoping for one this trip! I guess I'll keep dreaming.................

Got an email from him yesteday. I think he gave up the fight and I know Karan is counting on him. Anshuman gets off the ship after the 3rd Miami cruise and Karan continues solo.

 

Happy to see that we'll get to meet Anshuman again - we'll be on the 3rd Miami cruise :)

Anshuman does not want the Epic assignment. He is very tactfully trying to fight it. He really wants to stay on the Dawn. Somehow I think it is a futile fight.

While it may have been true originally, as everyone loves the Dawn, he is very much looking forward to the challenge now that the assignment has become a reality. We will miss him on the Dawn, but are happy to report that Anoop will replace him.

I got my information in an email from him last week. We keep in touch a couple times a month. What you "do NOT believe" and what he told me are two different things. ;)

 

Yes, now that the assignment has become a reality he will be up for the challenge. Besides, as someone above stated, it is not good for your career to say no to Klaus.

You are absolutely correct! Some info should be kept personal. That being said, I was concerned that Anshuman would not be on our cruise in May but he told me via email, he will be on the Dawn untill May 30th. You'll have to kill me to say more! lol

Thanks for letting me know that Andrea has moved on. We were hoping he was still on the Gem as he was very memorable. Who is the cruise director on the gem these days? We leave on Saturday so I guess I'll know soon enough.

My information has been proven wrong. Jon Ibrahim is on vacation as we speak and his next assignment will be the Sky. Shona Blair is the current CD and should be there through the end of August. Shona also stated that nobody knows where they will be after August.

Just found out Carlos Zarate, concierge NCL Jewel is on sick leave and Adrian Bica is currently filling in through June 2010. Does anyone know Adrian? What ship is he from? Also, who will be the Hotel Director while John O'Hara is on vacation? We are sailing on the Jewel June 5th and would appreciate any info. We called NCL and they don't keep track ........that's what they are telling us. Thanks...............

 

 

Adrian Bica came from the Gem. He started out as a Casino Host. We were on the Gem for Adrian's first run as concierge 12/12/09 Bahamas. Adrian was amazing, kind, friendly, and understanding. Adrian was everywhere, took care of everything. All you have to do is ask. Sometimes you didn't even have to ask. One night we had a problem with our cards in Teppanyaki and I was sitting there while my boyfriend went to deal with the front desk. Adrian saw me sitting there and came in to see if we needed help. I explained to him and he called my boyfriend. The problem had already been taken care of. Adrian waited with me so I was not sitting alone and said if we have any card problems in the future we should just call him. My parents had Adrian on a Caribbean cruise 1/24/10 and when they had a problem with their cards they called Adrian and he immediately brought them new cards.

 

We have had several NCL concierges and Adrian is our favorite of the concierges currently with NCL.

 

It is my understanding that Adrian will be the concierge of the Jewel until sometime in September and we hope to get to the Jewel while he is there.

Adrian sounds like he does the same marvolous job as Simone does on the Star. I swear, Simone would and did, do the same things! She often would visit with us in Cagneys and always responded promptly...and yes, did things for us without being asked! She is wonderful as well!

Does this mean that Jon Ibrahim will be the CD for the Sky in June? Everything I've read raved about how great the current CD Matt is & was getting very excited about that. How is Jon? Does he have the same energy & humor that has been raved by all about Matt??

This thread is the best known link to this type of information, and is assembled through the cooperation of those interested in "tracking" some of their favorite NCL staffers. If you read through you will find it is not limited to CD's, but a good spot to share info or ask questions about HD's, Concierge, F&B Mgrs., Bartenders, Captains, entertainers, Maitre D's, etc. As you mentioned, some of the best information comes from passengers who have just completed their cruise. That's a great time to post an update on the key staffers from your ship. I just checked the "hits" on this thread and it is currently at 26,316, evidence it is quite popular. When you return from your next cruise, might I suggest you file an update. Thanks!
