bjd2007 Posted July 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2006 Where on the Liberty are the laundry rooms? I didn't see any on the ship maps that I've looked at. Was it crowded?
cheftgc Posted July 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2006 On the Verandah deck 8, the laundry room was located on the right side of the ship(facing the bridge) near cabin 8355 right before the mid ship elevators. There are also other laundry rooms in the same location on decks 7, 6, 2 and 1. On the Lido deck 9 there is one located in the area between the 2 front elevators. cheftgc Posted July 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 30, 2006 Yes the laundry room can get crowded. This depends on the day. For example, it was very crowded on the first day of the cruise with passengers who had come to Rome for a few days before the cruise and wanted to launder the clothing they had already used during their stay in Rome. There are 3 washing machines, 1 iron and ironing board and I think 6 dryers in each room. There is also a detergent vending machine. Make sure you bring a lot of quarters with you. The washer & dryer each cost $2.00 a load, detergent costs $1.00 and they only take quarters. If you run out of quarters you can get them at the Pursers desk or possibly the Casino when it is open. bjd2007 Posted August 5, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted August 5, 2006 Thank you very much for your helpful tips. Maybe I'll just do one load. I just hate to have dirty clothes in my suitcase.
Mrsosci Posted August 5, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 5, 2006 We too sailed Liberty and the laundry room was always crowded. One of our friends didn't get off in Dubrovnik and tried then - crowded. I found early seating for dinner was best time. I would go check remaining time on machines and then go back about 10min before it was done and claim. On this route Carnival could use a few extra machines. There were a lot of people with lost luggage doing their stuff daily. They do offer the one time Laundry bag cleaning for $15. The bag is pretty big. Mrsosci

disneydavid Posted August 7, 2006 #7 Share Posted August 7, 2006 Do the laundry machines work while you are in port?
Mrsosci Posted August 8, 2006 #8 Share Posted August 8, 2006 Yes they work in port. There are people who do not leave the ship. The room is busy in port also. Our friends tried to use it instead of going to Dubrovnik.
hockeyluver Posted August 8, 2006 #9 Share Posted August 8, 2006 I would suggest bringing your own detergent and softner. It was $1 for each and in my opinion they only gave enough to wash half a load/container. I wasnt interested in watching the magic show our last cruise and did the laundry then it was great i could have used all 3 but only used 2 incase someone else didnt want to watch the show. This soooo cuts down on the amount to pack expecially when you have 2 teen daughters!!
serene56 Posted August 8, 2006 #10 Share Posted August 8, 2006 Since I am not in a hurry to get off the ship with the firt group of passengers... i throw a load in beofre heading to breakfast. By the time we are done breakfast-- the wash is just getting done-- throw it into the dryer then go get ready for the day. I grab the wash before heading out in the port. never encountered a crowd this way. Sea days will be the most crowded as is formal night with everyone waiting in line to iron. suzy1212 Posted August 8, 2006 #11 Share Posted August 8, 2006 Do the laundry machines work while you are in port? From Carnival.com FAQ Can I wash my clothes while on board? Self-Service Launderettes Each ship has at least 2 self-service launderettes located on the stateroom decks. There are two or three washers and dryers, and one iron and ironing board in each launderette. The cost is $2.00 per washer load and $2.00 per dryer load. Vending machines dispense small boxes of detergent and water softener at $1.00 per box. Note: Due to local environmental requirements, the washing machines in the guest' launderette will be closed in port, per each ports specific requirements; the dryers and irons will be available for guest use. serene56 Posted August 9, 2006 #12 Share Posted August 9, 2006 Suzi- I have never seen a laundry roomclosed while in port. I trully believe that carnival has not updated their pages in quite a few years now.
