Eastern Caribbean - which side of boat-answer inside

Recommended Posts

One of the questions DW and I had when booking on MOS for the Eastern Caribbean was which side of the ship to book on. We chose the right side (facing front, I don't know if that's port or starboard, nor do I care). Having now done this cruise, the only time the right side of the ship was an advantage was when we were leaving CocoCay. All other times (while docked in St. Thomas and St. Marteen), the left side of the ship was most definitely better. Plus, on the 2 sea days heading back to Port Canaveral, the sun set on the left side of the ship.

So, if I could do it over again, I'd choose the left side of the ship, although for us, the best night for a sunset was the only night the sunset was on our side of the ship (leaving CocoCay).

By the way, we had an Oceanview Balcony Stateroom - 7350. With a balcony, the choice of which side to be on is more important IMO.
