Carnival Liberty Tricks and Tips

It is an awesome ship - I am jealous - definitely want to cruise her again. I would not say that there are any special tips and tricks - no different than any other Conquest class. You would be best off reading the reviews and picking up the subtle things people write about - like vibrations in the aft dining room - but again, it is personal likes and dislikes, I think it has much better views.

I've been on the Liberty 3 times and absolutely loved it, make sure she sees Venice it is breathtaking! Also, tell her to go to the shows that John Heald, the cruise director hosts, she will absolutely love him.

We were in the aft dining room and the only time we felt any vibrations at all was during the afternoon tea the day the seas were so rough that we missed a port. I keep reading about the aft dining room vibrations, but we literally ate in there 10 dinners, several breakfasts and lunches and didn't feel a thing.

We also kept hearing that the rooms over the casino were loud and we wouldn't be able to sleep, again no problem.

The Liberty is a wonderful ship, the crew was great and the ports were incredible. I would go again tomorrow, if I could only afford it. You might find a few tips in our review the link is in my signature.

We loved the Liberty. We had an inside cabin on the 2nd floor. Never heard a sound. Next to us was a group of 4 teens (Moms were a few doors down) and it was still quiet. Plenty of closet space - beds were oh so comfy!!! Food was great - entertainment just as good. We enjoyed the Cabinet (deck 4) they was a great jazz trio. Tricky getting near the pool but was usually able to get chairs close by. We went with 2 other couples and had a great time.

We like to get around and see everything - and there is alot to see. The Piano Bar is wonderful and alot of fun til very early in the morning. The casino - love the slots (one of our friends won $1,000). There are alot of fun games to play on sea days. Scavenger hunt, trivia, bingo, etc. We won a solid gold plastic ship on a stick!!

The hardest thing for me to get used to was getting around deck 3, 4 and 5. The galley is there and in order to get to our dining room (Silver Olympian) we had to walk up one floor then cross, go up 2 and then down. Not a complaint - the walking was good exercise for all the food we ate. I am sure that your Mom is going to be more than happy with her time on the Liberty. Happy Crusing!!

Loved the Liberty, we did have one of those rooms abovethe Casino. we brought the noise to the attention of the Casino Manager, they turned the ringers down after 10:00 pm, after that no other problems. We sailed onthe 4th cruise last summer, so I think they were still working the bugs out.

The ship is beautiful, John Heald is great, we enjoyed his shows. Never had a prblem with the aft dining room, with no rough waters.

They will change the dining times, to a little later when the ship leaves port later, so if she has late seating some nights is 8:45 pm.

Just read your review and loved it. I have a couple of questions that I hope you, or someone, will see.

You said you cabbed it from the port to La Segrada Familia. How much was the cab ride? Did you negotiate it beforehand?

Second, did the guide at the catacombs in Rome cost more or was it free with admission?

Thanks in advance.
