FLL hotels hard to find 2/2/07 thru 2/4/07 (duh)

If you, like me, are not a huge sports nut, and hadn't even begun to think about the Super Bowl or where or when it might be this year.. I've got news for ya.. It's Sun 2/4/07 in Miami... and as a result, rooms are just about impossible to find anywhere near Fort lauderdale that weekend. Unless you want to pay $300 for a Hampton Inn (which may end up being our only option)

 

We're actually not even cruising then, but do happen to be passing thru FLL that Saturday and need to stay overnite on a return flight from a week on one of the Bahamas' out islands.

 

So - if you are coming or going at that time and need a room in the Fort Lauderdale area , you'd best get lookin now.

The Super Bowl discussion started right after this past Super Bowl on these threads. That's when large blocks of hotel rooms throughout Miami and Ft Lauderdale were gobbled up. What's left will be going at "special event" rates which is normally double the "rack" rate. Most may end up arriving the day before their cruise, staying in Orlando or Ft Meyers and renting a car for the three hour drive to Ft Lauderdale.
