Newsdude Posted August 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2006 I am traveling with two 16-year-old girls who live to shop. We will be in Nassau overnight. We are taking a Sea Island Adventures trip during the day and will return about 4 p.m. Where should we go to spend their money after that?
awillingham04 Posted August 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2006 From what i have heard if they like jewelry, artwork, ect... the Festival Place is good. If you are looking for local art and stuff try the Plait Lady on East Bay or Marina Village. I have never been myself, first cruise is August 28th. Also, I have been told that at the straw markets you can find Prada, Couch, Chanel, and all the other designer purses and stuff for real cheap. I have been told you can get purses for about $30.00. I think I'll be doing some Christmas shopping. :D
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted August 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2006 Newsdude: The downtown stores generally close in the 5pm-6pm range as do the vendors in the straw market, so you're not going to have much time for shopping in Nassau. I believe Scubagurl mentioned recently in a different thread that the shops in the Marina Village at the Atlantis Resort & Casino stay open later, but these are generally expensive shops plus a logo store. Wendy The Wanderer Posted August 16, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 16, 2006 I presume you mean the purses are knock-offs. But be a little careful about buying stuff like that, you could get it confiscated on your return, I believe.
