Weather QM2

We are sailing transatlantic on the QM2 this Friday 11th August! Does anyone have an idea of what kind of weather to expect at sea. I ask this so we can plan what clothes to pack ;)

Basicaly calm and warm. Weather can change out in the pond in a week though!

 

http://www.fnmoc.navy.mil suggest that it is going to be pretty calm. Any waves will be following although not realy large enough to push the ship around.

 

As for surface weather see http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/charts/FSXX00T_84.jpg and http://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/waves/latest_run/nww3_na.f120h.3.gif . I am guessing it will be fairly pleasant and with the wind following you, it should be quite still on deck.

I too sailed on the Norway - same trip as you but a couple of months earlier. What a very beautiful ship, breathtaking in its elegance. And such a sad ending to her story.
