Fins?

Any real need for fins snorkeling off of the beach at Half Moon Cay or Blackbeard's Cay?

I think its a good idea to always use fins when ever I snorkel.... sometimes you'll see stuff down about 10 feet under the surface and want to get to it... so there would be no way without them.

 

Also, I use fins incase there is a shark after me ... I can swim fast then the guy next to me without them... LOL... Just kidding.:D

Not sure about Blackbeard's but you really don't need fins for HMC. Never deeper than about 10 feet or so and usually clear. The best area is right at the rocks straight out from the beach but it is not deep at all. The fins would be useful to get out and back with less effort. I swam without fins from that area diagonally back to where I was on the beach and it did get a little tiring. So I will take fins the next trip for that reason.

I always snorkel with fins too.... I tried without and it was harder... You waste more energy also..... :D
