NCL and Gluten Free Diets

I have a good friend who is going on the Spirit Sept. 16. She has celiacs and was wondering if anyone has any info how well NCL is with special diets. Princess was terrific for her, they went out of their way to accommodate her. RCCL....no so great. We have never been on NCL before so we have no idea how well they handle these situations. Any info would be much appreciated.

I'm allergic to a number of foods (not celiac) including wheat, yeast, soy, tomatoes, cane sugar, cows milk, peanuts, peppercorns, etc., etc. I never asked for a special menu but the Crown was very accomadating in telling me the ingredients in dishes and adjusting according to my needs (leaving gravies and sauces off, etc). For the most part I stuck with fresh veggies and fruit, along with unseasoned meats (my usual fare anyway). I was probably the only one on the ship that lost weight during the cruise and still ate excessively! NCL has a special services link about diet restrictions and info on contacting the cruise coordinator prior to sailing:

I hope your friend has a great time!
