sailingsue5 Posted August 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2006 I read that it is a requirement to leave checked baggage outside the door at midnight before disembarking. What about toiletries that are needed the next morning now that they can't be in carry-ons?
EggDropErin Posted August 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2006 Ick. I never thought about that. I hope we all don't have to stink on the way home! Perhaps some changes will come about with the new restrictions.
Rala Posted August 17, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2006 Good Question! Maybe you could just put a small amt. of what ever you need for the last morning in those little travel containers or buy the smallest size available of toothpaste, lotion or whatever and if you have to give them up at security, it is a relatively small loss. Good Luck and have a great cruise!
sailingsue5 Posted August 17, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted August 17, 2006 Good suggestion. Just buy all travel sized items and leave them behind in the cabin. I'm sure there are a lot of people who forget about this as they are packing up on that last night. Any ideas from those just getting back? It'sRC4ME Posted August 17, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2006 I have a fairly generous sized tote bag that I use as an airline carryon and beach bag during the cruise. It is big enough that I can fit my toilet kit (10"x5"x8") and my pajamas inside it in the morning to get off the ship. When I pick up my luggage at the pier, I open up the luggage and put the toilet kit and pjs back inside it before I check it for the flight home. sailingsue5 Posted August 17, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted August 17, 2006 Even better idea. There will be 5 of us traveling together so I'm thinking we could leave room in one of the suitcases for all of our stuff that way we won't be opening up 5 suitcases before checking them. Put it in your checked bag then before you go to the airport. d

greatdanemom Posted August 17, 2006 #9 Share Posted August 17, 2006 frudutx, that's a great solution! If sailingsue5 hadn't brought this whole issue up I would've been standing in the airport next to the trash cans cleaning out my carry on. Thanks for this thread, guys!!
