Embarkation - Port Everglades - Lauderdale

I read with interest the info about embarkation at Vancouver. What about Port Everglades in Ft Lauderdale? How long to go though the process? When should we arrive?

Will there be any particular problems I personally may encounter - for I will be in a wheelchair and/or on crutches.

I would have the same questions and issues on disembarkation. We are on the 12/18 - 12/29 cruise on the Voyager, which leaves from Ft Lauderdale and returns to Ft Lauderdale.

We actually live here in Ft. Lauderdale and have sailed out of the port many times. Rest assured, you will have no problems at all. Each ship has its own security and check-in so you won't have to worry about long lines, etc. Enjoy your cruise and relax!

We sailed out of Port Everglades in December. No problems. It was very fast, only minutes. We had visitors to the ship to drop us off and have lunch onboard before we left. My Mom, my Aunt and my Grandma. My Aunt has adult-onset Muscular Dystrophy and can only walk short distances with a cane. She stayed with us walking and she had no problems. My Grandma is in a wheelchair from strokes. My Mom dropped us all at the curb and then went to park. When the RSSC reps saw us on the curb with a wheelchair and a cane, they sprang into action. They took my Grandma from us like royalty and took her by elevator from the curb into the ship, no worries! She was inside waiting for us when we got aboard. Saw the same thing on the return with other passengers.

Stew,

It probably depends on the arrival and disembarkation of the previous cruise, but even if all that happened early in the morning, you would probably not be able to board before early afternoon. Cabins are usually ready by 3pm. We boarded around 1 to 1:30pm and had lunch at the Pool Grill while waiting for to go to our cabin.

Normally they allow you to board the ship around 12:30 to 1:00 pm

Your cabin is usually ready around 2:30 or 3:00 pm.

In the mean time you can have lunch at the pool area.

Checking in and boarding Regent is wonderful compared to other lines.

It does not take very long to check in.
