Hi all-it's our 1st sea day on the beautiful MOS....everything has gone well for my wife & I so far....upgrade from a D1 to a Junior Suite, embarcation was a breeze, about 20-30 min to get on.Cabins ready at 1 PM,got our luggage about 3:30 .....Becky,our CD,is indeed terrific-what a difference from that total dud we had on the Westerdam.....ate at Chops last night, and despite CC posters saying it was slow,we were in & out in 75 minutes and both food & service were outstanding.....we eat in Portifinos tonight....

any questions give a hollar,I'll try and get back on here in a few days..Cruise Critic meeting today at 11 AM.....

Sounds like you're having a great time.............

Is Chops and Portofinos both still $20PP??

Have fun.........I'll be on her in two weeks!!:)

Our family also had a GREAT time on the Mariner last month! Isn't Becky the best? Be sure to go to the Love & Marriage Game, Quest and Battle of the Sexes! Those were a lot of fun. Have a wonderful cruise!

Ok BIG AL here's my questions:

1. What order are the theme nites for dinner?

2. Any wireless access in the rooms or just in the hot spots? How many hot spots on the ship?

3. Price of soda card?

4. Does RCCL still offer the "Wine & Dine" pkg - prices?

Do they still have the drink cards for alcohol - I think they used to be 5 or 6 alcoholic drinks for a certain price. Able to use on the drinks of the day.

Thanks for being such a sport and answering questions on your vacation.

I'd be interested in the drink package. On the Grandeur in March and the Sovereign in May, I was told that this had been discontinued!

How has the casino been to you? do you remember what time it opened on your first day out?

Will you be using the Concierge Lounge? If so, does Ricardo mix "fufu" drinks for one, or can you only get standard mixed drinks; i.e., rum & coke, etc.

I am also curious if Chops is still $20 - absolutely love that place!

How did your CC meeting turn out? Many show up? I hope ours 10/15 will be great!

Smooth sailing!

2. Any wireless access in the rooms or just in the hot spots? How many hot spots on the ship?

Bowlersbus, I called RCCL about internet the other day. They said it's $100 for internet set up in stateroom for the week. There are computers in the library...I *think* internet is 50 cents a minute there.

Big Al, my question is simillar to one above...did you upgrade at the pier? How much was it pp to upgrade to the jr suite?

We are sailing the Mariner in 39 days!!

We LOVE the Mariner! Who's the current captain??

I can answer this one, as I am also posting "live" from the Mariner at the moment (we are currently docked in St. Thomas). :)

Captain Johnny is the captain, and at last night's C&A party, he said he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.

zwanzig or anyone that is on the Mariner this week. Please give Becky a message "English Shampoo" she will tell you a funny story. I thought she was going on vacation starting 8/20 but I guess not since she is your CD....:D

If Becky asks you who mentioned "English Shampoo" (which she would probably remember) tell her Debbie.....:) We cruised on the MOS 7/30 and had a great time. Well everyone have a great time wish I was still on.....:)

MamaNeedsACruise - thnx. Safe to assume then that that is unlimited access?

Anyone on the ship now using the wireless? How is the signal?

Where did BIG AL go? Too many libations at the sail a way party. LOL

Figures they did away with the drink card - that was sooo much simplier. Poppin that thing out. Instead of having to stop and sign for every drink and putting the receipt somewhere.

The $100 is for unlimited...........not that fast, but it will do..........Be sure to get one of the setups as soon as you board..they have a few and they go quickly.........this past May(on the Explorer) we got the last one at 1pm!!

Considering its Thanksgiving sailing I am sure it will be faster than fast that they go.

Anyone know since we staying in an OS and have concierge is that something that they can set up ahead of time for you?

I've read elsewhere that the concierge emails you before you cruise - is that the norm or just sometimes?

My brother is getting married so maybe we'll be one of the first on the ship?!?!?!

Becky's gone isn't she???? Dirk somebody is the new CD right??

Kimberly, I read that Kirk Detweiller will be our CD by 9/3. He was CD on the Serenade in 10/05 and the Adventure (I think) when I cruised. I thought he was good on the Serenade...don't remember having and impression either way on the Adventure.
