Taking a cake knife

Recommended Posts

Our daughter is getting married on the Caribbean Princess next month and I am taking the cake knife we used for our wedding 30 years ago.

How should I pack it to get on the ship? Should I put it in my carry on luggage to take thru hand screening or put it in the luggage that I leave with the porters? I always lock my luggage I leave at the pier, but I'm wondering if security might have to open my suitcase to check out the cake knife. If I carry it thru the hand screening they could check it right there.

Has anyone taken on their own cake knife?

Thanks :)

P.S. I will be packing it in checked luggage when we fly.
