Robroy Posted August 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2006 Bequia: As the resident FLL expert, I would value your opinion on these two hotels. I know that you haven't been a big fan of either of them from past posts, but would you mind offering your current take on which might be the best value overall? Reason: we're cruising this fall and wish to use Starwood points and both seem to offer good locations. Thanks in advance for your help! Bequia Posted August 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2006 Rob, Are you cruising after December 15th? If so, I'd put your Starwood Points towards a stay at the brand new St Regis. ;) http://www.starwoodhotels.com/stregis/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1512 My second choice for using Starwood points if possible would be at The Atlantic. http://www.condohotelcenter.com/condo-hotels/featured-properties/atlantic.html Another Starwood property, The Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa is nearby http://www.starwoodhotels.com/westin/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1402 Why settle for anything else? Robroy Posted August 26, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted August 26, 2006 Unfortunately we're cruising in October but will check into the Atlantic & Westin. Thanks for your help! Rob

Genessa Posted August 26, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 26, 2006 we stayed at the Westin last January and it was, by far, the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. Comparing the Yankee Clipper to the Westin would be like comparing a Red Roof to the Waldorf Astoria or a Chevette to a Lamborghini. If I had points and could somehow stay at the Westin before our next cruise, I absolutely would.
wrp96 Posted August 26, 2006 #6 Share Posted August 26, 2006 But if I managed to get the Sheraton Yankee Clipper for only $35 the weekend after the Super Bowl then would it still be better to look somewhere else?

For $35 a night, sure, if it's just for one night. Any longer I'd pass.
