Hope someone can help,we would like to cruise on the Crown, fall of 2008 out of San Juan,(hopefully its still running this route !).we have tried pricing the same cruise fall 2007 but all US travel agents online state you must be a resident of the US/Canada to book ? does anyone know why,its much cheaper to book via the web with a US travel agent than here in the UK (a lot cheaper).. thanks Iain.

We booked about sixteen months ahead, through a US TA for a cruise which we took earlier this year. We have since heard from this agent that US agents have been informed by Princess that as from January 2006 they were no longer able to take bookings from UK.

So it seems to be quite a new thing. I agree, there is quite a difference in the pricing. We have had to book our next cruise through a UK agent.

Brian.. They can sell to UK clients as I've just explained. I used a Californian based franchise of a very large US cruise specialist TA. The franchise is owned and operated by a British couple so they know what's what, and no such threat of possible surcharges at the point of embarkation. Better still, no mis-understandings either. My tickets have arrived and all documentation from Princess is duly addressed to me in the UK etc..etc..

Thanks Anne, that thread is heating up so many different answers,i normally use cruiserewards but they refused the Princess booking, they did say however that some other agents would gladly accept my booking !!!,i think our American friends have a raw deal when they cruise in Europe, we are cruising RCL's Navigator next May,and our quote from cruiserewards was around 1700 $ higher than a UK travel agent..thanks Iain
