kimtursiella Posted August 31, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2006 Hi all - Flying in day before cruise ( Star Princess 2/10/07 Western) need help with a hotel close to port... Has any one stayed at the Stirling Suites Ft Lauderdale Cruise Port? Decent price and they offer free transfers from airport to hotel and hotel to port. Might anyone have a suggestion where to stay we are a group of 3 couples. Would like something that has restaurants etc walking distance. Any help would be appreciated....... geopa Posted August 31, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2006 Check tripadvisor.com http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g34168-d87228-Reviews-Stirling_Suites_Ft_Lauderdale_Airport-Dania_Florida.html We stayed there several years ago when it was a SpringHill Suites property, then it was a bit worn , seems to have gone down hill afterwards. This June we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Sea/Air Port on Sr 84, very nice hotel, very clean, helpful staff. Only down side is not much in the way of restaurants-- there is a good German restaurant about 2 blocks away and a few fast food places across the highway. Hotel has several takeout menus for restaurants that deliver to the hotel.
kydale Posted August 31, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2006 Two years ago we stayed at the Marriott Hotel right at the port. It was in Feb. We used Priceline and paid 80 bucks. Not bad. You might give priceline a try. Be sure you do a little research before you start bidding and once you have a hotel you can't give it back! Rare teacherman Posted August 31, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2006 We stayed at the Fort Lauderdale Extended Stay America. They did not have a shuttle, but it was a short cab ride from the airport and a very short cab ride to the port. Many good restaurants within walking distance for breakfast and dinner, and a short walk to the water-taxi for a pleasant sight seeing trip of Fort Lauderdale. palolake Posted September 1, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2006 The Super Bowl is 2/4 and hopefully it won't make it difficult to get rooms. We needed a room for 1/17 and just about everything was booked up.
