tom e boy Posted September 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2006 not sure if it matters, but we chose the 545pm dinner seating and thought we would change that. If we leave ports about that time, we would return from the islands an hour berfore we sail, and thats plenty of time to shower and get to dinner. we also thought the early seating would get us to a show on time with a good seat. any thoughts out there... if we wanted to change, is it a call to carnival, and we would prefere to sit at a table without kids,
osiebosie Posted September 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2006 You'll probably get alot of replies, but it is a matter of personal preference as to when you want to eat. We eat at the early seating. We are used to eating early, and we just keep it that way. Shay
big_duck Posted September 1, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2006 You have plenty of time to contact your TA/PVP, and change your dinner request now. Of course remember that no dining time is guaranteed, and 6:15 seems to be the popular seating. The Maitre d' endevours to put similar groups together when doing the seating arrangements so if you are a couple, you are likely to end up at a table with other couples. If you are unhappy with your assigned dining time or placement, you can always request a change after you board.
Cotton Posted September 1, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2006 Tom, there is plenty of seating for the production shows after dinner. They arrange it so the early diners go to the 8:45 show, and late diners go to the 10:30 show. Didn't your booking agent tell you that your request for a specific dining time is only that...a request? In all liklihood, you'll get your 5:45 requested time, but if not, see the Maitre d'. Only Platinum Status passengers are guaranteed their exact choice of dining assignment. Other than Platinum, nobody knows their assignment until they receive their Sail & Sign card at check-in, just prior to boarding the ship. When you first get to your cabin, there will be a copy of the Capers (ship's daily newsletter). In there will be an announcement as to when and where to see the Maitre d' to request any changes.:)
