Just Off The Ecstasy

We are just off the Ecstasy and here is a bit of a recap.

We flew S/W from L.A. to Hobby. Hobby is great(not a big airport)easy to navigate. Rented a van from dollar(280 for a week includes all charges), there were 4 of us so needed the room. Stayed thursday night at the Red Roof in just outside of Hobby. Would not do that again.

Next a.m. up ate(decent buffet at the Hilton) and drove to Galveston. A to B. EZ cruise was used and it was O.K. if we did this again I would try somthing different. What is that parking lot just accross the street from the cruise terminal?

We are Platinum cruisers and that REALLY makes a difference. First when we arrived we were allowed to bypass all lines and were immediately wisked on board.(before Noon) We had cabin U84. Carnival had personalized stationary waiting for us, a fruit basket with alot of fruit. A letter explaining some of our perks, including 25% off all spa services! Now add that into the port day specials and we really saved. My 75 minute hot stone massage was $119!

Oh I forgot to mention when we arrived there was a letter saying that because of ERNESTO we would be going to Progresso first and the implication although not specifically stated was that missing Cozumel was a very real possibility.

Turns out ERNESTO made a fight hand turn and we did make Coz.

Our cabin steward "Sonny" was just incredable he was always there when we needed him> One of the perks for Platinum cruiser is free wash and fold we used this service ever day. Came home with very little laundry.

We had 8:00 seating for dinner-- this worked out well. The food in the dinning room was very good to excellent. The food on Lido deck was fair to very good. Mostly just good.

The only show we saw from beginng to end was the Talent show. I did see part of on comedian and left as not funny to me.

The wheather was hot and humid and it never rained. We went snorkiling in Coz and it was fantastic! We did the carnival excursion on this.

I had fantastic luck in th casino coming home with over 12k in w2 g's(irs form)

Oh the beds were very very good.

Medical staff very attentive and not outragiously expensive.

All in all a great trip.

Debarkation We could have been off by 8:15 but we got a very late start and did not leave till 8:45 this was the earliest and the smoothest debarkation I have ever experianced.

You brought back 12K from the casino:D Guess that explains your review of the medical staff....As I know I would have required medical attention had I won 12K:eek:

rvgirl,

I played many different games mostly dollar video poker, but I also beat "jade monkey" out out of 30k in nickles! Got in the bonus round and it retriggered several times! Hit a ROYAL for 8k, 4 aces for 1600 and 4 ducks with a kicker for another 1600.

Wow! That's awesome! I never have luck on the poker machines. I don't do too bad on slots though. Good to hear someone won big!!!
