Shopping in Halifax

Recommended Posts

There had been a post about shopping in Halifax. Now I can not locate it.

So what's the great shopping finds in Halifax?

I would like to find kilts and capes for young nieces. Anyone have any suggestions.

There was a CC member who lived in Halifax and offered a great deal of information. I tried to find the thread but had no luck.

Here are some of the links that I booked marked from the information that I received. There is a link to the shopping guide:

Here is another link where you can order a Guide Book for free:

This link will take you to a site where you can download the waterfront map in Adobe:

I hope this helps you, Enjoy your cruise.

There is a Plaid Place (I believe that's the name) with locations downtown at Barrington Place and in the trendy shopping district on Spring Garden Road. I also saw them among the many vendors at the ship terminal when I stopped down there when the QM2 was in town. There is much shopping in general, but many of the more popular stores will be represented at the terminal (I assume, because this is CC, you're on a port stop). There are nice touristy shops in the Historic Properties on the other end of the waterfront from the cruise terminal. Higher end shopping is available on Spring Garden Road, which is about a ten or fifteen minute hike from the ship. Once there, you can continue to the end of the street and visit the Public Gardens.

Thanks for the info.

Yes, I will be on the Carnival Victory is two weeks. Sounds like the ship terminal would be just as good as the others. Last year I purchased the red capes for my nieces when I was in Ireland. They loved them so much I thought I'd try to get the matching kilts or another set.

Thanks again
