Wine - NY Port - FYI

I was on the Carnival Legend this past week. I brought 4 bottles on wine with me in a backpack. The backpack went thru the x-ray machine, security stopped to look in the bag, they asked me if I had wine in the bag and wanted to see the wine. I showed them 2 of the bottles and they let me take the wine on board - no problem.

Did you drive to the port? I've never had trouble getting it on the ship. I'm just worried about the airline regulations.

I had someone drop us off at the ship, the porters took must of our luggage and I tooks ome stuff thru security, they didn't give me a hard time, just asked to see if it was Wine I had, they just wanted to make sure the bottles were wine.
