Princess Shuttles

We didn't take the shuttles in Singapore or Shanghai, but we did in Nha Trang and looked into one at Nagasaki. They ran every half hour and you paid in USD both ways. You can buy tickets at the dock before you board and then when you get back on, you buy the return ticket from the driver or guide. Ours gave us a running commentary about the city and country, so it was worth the cost. Make sure you check the time of the last bus, as it usually stops half an hour before the ship docks.

It will probably be about double that for us on the Sapphire because she has to park farther away from the city because of the size difference.

Since Shanghai is one of the busiest and largest ports in the world, I should think there are many piers there.

It is said that we dock in Shanghai at:

Wai Gao Qiao port

It was really amazing to us just how much traffic the Chang Jiang river gets. We counted 53 ships/boats/taxis in under ten minutes.

I was also able to check the prices and it was $5 to the Exhibit hall and $4 back..hmm, that's a little weird.

We were called early this day because the Chinese officials demand a face to face with everyone on the ship. No one gets off until they have seen everyone. This was a minor hassle with 630 passengers - man, I don't envy what you will be going through. Good news is that it was very fast, bad news was that some people didn't want to show up and had to be rousted from their beds for this (sort of funny acutally - all of us in line to go ashore applauded as they can stumbling by...heh, heh, heh). You can also exchange money on board in demoninations of $20. Do at least a little if just for the neat envleopes they give you.

Cheers!

Shuttles to and from Shanghai from the pier were free both days in Shanghai. We were docked 45 minutes (no traffic) 1 hour or more with traffic from the city center.
