Tender or dock to these ports?

I use a powerchair and need to know if the Maasdam docks or tenders to Roseau Dominica, Bassetterre St Kitts, Bridgetown Barbados and St Thomas?

Should we take my manual wheelchair also on this cruise?

Barbados is a docking port.

 

St. Thomas can be a docking port or a tender port, depending on how many ships are in port that day.

Access your on line itinrary it will tell you. Yes, use your folding wheelchair on land. Most of these port have very poor accessibilit issues (except St Thomas which come under ADA). can be put in the trucks of the taxi for you to go around in. We have been to Roseau Dominica twice. Very pretty island. Both times we docked in downtown. You definitly need manual chair on all of these islands. Even then I had to push my husband around, the streets were too narrow and angles too much for him.

Can I use my powerchair on the island or is the manual still better? Hate to have to have my husband push me all over. Would the powerchair go on and off the ship ok?

There are few curb cuts, often 1-2 steps into stores or other sights, and you may need to be lifted partially even when docked. We always plan to use the manual chair instead of the power chair in any foreign ports. You can't get a power chair up over an 8 inch curb (unless you are using an iBot!).
