MelissaForrest Posted September 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2006 What is better (and faster), to take the ferry to St. John from Charlotte Amalie or take a taxi to Red Hook and take the ferry?
The Islander Posted September 7, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 7, 2006 Hello, The schedules are different on the two ferries. You should check that out, might help you determine which to use (if one works with your schedule and the other does not). http://www.*****/stjohn/getting_there/ Timewise it works out about the same. If you are docked in Havensight figure 6-8 minute drive to town and 40-45 minute ferry ride. And to Red Hook about a 20 minute drive and a 15-20 minute ferry ride. This is low-medium traffic drive times. And better... depends on your schedule & plans. The CA ferry is a longer ride so that might be something to think about if you get seasick easily. --Islander http://www.*****
MelissaForrest Posted September 7, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted September 7, 2006 Thanks for all the info and for the link to the website! I want to get there as early as possible, so I guess I will be going from Red Hook. Mel
