Back-to-back cruises questions (merged)

I am not 100% sure, but I think you still need to get off the ship and you can either do something or they take you to an area so they can clean up and stuff and then you get right back on. Again, I am not certain, but I thought this was the case. I am sure others will comment as well.

Good luck....

You do not have to leave the ship at all unless they take you off to do the customs/immigration and then you are taken right back on. The pools are open for use. Windjammer opens at 12 noon for the new passengers lunch buffet and most everything else will open soon after that.

It seems that you had a good trip but weren't especially pleased with the "no perks" for B2B..

My sister was on Explorer on 9/3. It was her "Diamond" cruise and because she had booked a suite it was 10th/11th in one sailing. She thought that because of that she would be Diamond on that sailing..NO!!! She wasn't happy. All the comments, calls etc. didn't matter. She survived but was a bit peeved!!

She wasn't going to make a big deal about it, but she wasn't happy!!

Have to look at the way things have changed...aB2B in the "old" days was acknowledged in some way....need I say more??

I was looking forward to some sort of special treatment on my B2B this February on the AOS.......should I lower my expectations? :(

Chocolate covered strawberries would be nice......

Lower, I think you might have to bury them. ;)

Our cruises were great. There is a bit of cutting down going on everywhere. You can see different things missing or being cut down on at dinner.

People who had sailed her before us told us of the perks and luncheons and such for the B2B cruisers. It just didn't happen, but did not ruin our cruises in any way. This B2B cruise put us at Diamond also. But, you do not get any of their Diamond perks until the next one you sail. So, I will be perked as Diamond on the Nov. 5, 2007 Empress cruise next year.

Unless they cut that out too. :D

After we zipped out through immigration/customs and got our new SeaPasses and re-boarded, my darling children (big ones, not little kids), went straight back to the cabin and went back to bed! (they were QUITE annoyed that I had dragged them to the Purser's Desk at 9 a.m. for the process)

So, yes, you can oftentimes return to your cabin. Just let your cabin attendant know your plans. We had told her not to worry about us at all and just attend to her other cabins.

Every Ship seems to be very different when you are on a b2b :( the best one for us was the Brilliance a couple of years ago, we had done an 11 night Caribbean followed by a Transatlantic, all the Diamond members on the b2b were treated to Lunch in Chops with the senior officers plus a bottle of Champagne was delivered to the cabin one afternoon Compliments of the officers and crew.

I think all this is at the discretion of the food and beverage officer.

Will post next month after our 9+7 Explorer cruise

Boy, that really was a nice touch.

We're doing our 1st B2B in Nov. and I guess after reading all these posts I've now "buried" (as Alexis puts it) my expectations for any special goodies on week #2.

Alexis, this also puts us at Diamond and we WILL be upset if they take those benefits away after we reach it.

Alexis, was the second leg of your B2B cruise number 10 or number 11?

We're on the same B2B as Jill, and the first leg will be 24/25 for us (love those JS double points!), so I'm going to be inquiring of the Loyalty Ambassador and/or the Concierge about getting the DP perks for the second leg. I wasn't expecting anything extra special as a B2B-er but am still thinking we should be entitled to the DP bennies for 25/26, even if it's "only" a bridge tour and a bottle of champagne at sailaway. Not that I'm greedy or anything...:p

I see you read my posts and quote me well. :D Buried was the word for ours. :(

Our next cruise is the Empress again and they do not have the Concierge lounge. :(

It will be a bit before we get perks.

It was credit 10. We had to do the both weeks to become Diamond. We are now officially Diamond members.

Friends did a B2B where one of them became Diamond after the first week of the B2B and the Concierge gave them the privileges of using the lounge for the second week.

I understand from the Loyalty Ambassador that the Diamond members and up will receive something as a perk during the second week.

How the heck ru?

I remember you talking about all the b2b cruises you guys take and had always wanted to take one. Well we did the Navigator, East & Western and it was nice. I gotta say I think I prefer the Radiance Class ships.(Jewel& Brilliance) It's more views of the ocean and Sal and I like that.

Looks like you have some fun cruises coming up.

Have fun!

Say hi to Alan for us.

Sal and Suzanne

I am looking so forwar to our B2B Navagator cruise

The Navigator is a BEAUTIFUL SHIP WITH SOOOOO MUCH TO DO. It isn't lacking in anything. B2b is the best way to go on her as she's so big. And we were totally satisified with the dining choices. Loved Chops and Portofino!

Questions, please ask and we'll help!

Lucky you!:)

Hi Suz

We are both doing great - Glad you enjoyed your b2b on the Navigator :)

It has been so long since we have been on a Voyager class ship that we are really looking forward to our Explorer cruise in 3 weeks time :) but think like you the Radiance class will still be our favourite ships.

We were in South Africa 13th - 20th Sept for the wedding of Brett Goad Concierge from the Brilliance and Jewel.

Hope you and Sal are well.

I dont mean to sound dumb but I am thinking of taking a B2B cruise next august. It would be 5 days to Bermuda then 9 nts to canada/New England. I just want to ask if u book both cruises ...do u get the same room on both or do u have to pack and unpack for the 2nd half? This will be our 8th cruise and the first B2B I have ever done. Also what about laundry? Hub asked that one...LOL......Any comments would be appreciated. We just sailed a 9 nt to eastern Caribbean on EOs from 8/25-9/3 It was wonderful..........Thanks Kathy

We did a back to back on the Caribbean Princess this last Xmas and New years. First, let me say, that we loved doing the back to back! We had the same cabin and the same table in the dinning room for both trips. When we ended the first trip, we waited and were the last to get off. they had an officer escort us thru customs, just a brief wave and hello, go thru security again and then get our new cruise card. Maybe it took all of 15 minutes. The longest wait was being the last off!
