In one day it's impossible...:eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: From Barcelona to Lourdes there are about 6 hours of drive, and on mountain roads..no highways, only if you pass by Perpignan and Carcassonne there are highways but is longer!

I had no idea! Thank you for the information. Maybe we can plan an overnight stay there and return the next day. It would still be a tight schedule.

The best way to go from Barcelona to lourdes is renting a car. You may go by the Pyrenees (there are several possible intineraries) and return by the highway to Toulouse and Carcasonne. The trips lasts the same in both cases but by Carcasonne you have more miles.

 

You may hire a private driver but count for 2 days and around 1.000 km the total trip: 350-400 km by the Pyrenees and 500 by Toulouse and Carcasonne.

 

I you leave Barcelona in the morning you will may spend the afternoon and the following morning in Lourdes having a complete day there. You will need in any case 5-6 hours to get Lourdes.

 

The trip is really wonderful.
