spinnaker Posted September 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2006 Is it possible to find out in advance of a cruise or crossing who the guest speakers / authors etc. will be on that particular voyage ?
Atomica Posted September 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2006 I was wondering the same thing. I seem to recall Cunard having a list at one time of who was scheduled to speak on the QM2, but I have no idea what happened to it...
Liv4cruzin Posted September 14, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 14, 2006 I don't think this gives you the complete list of guest entertainment; but it does give you some. Go to cunard.com. In the lower right hand corner you will see "voyage finder". Select a ship, month and/or region. When the list pops up. Click on whatever cruise you're interested in. Click on the tab that says "enrichment programs". There are 2 buttons you can click on, "View all enrichment programs" & "Oxford Discovery Program". One or the other will show you who is scheduled to be onboard (all subject to change, of course).
pb82 Posted September 14, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 14, 2006 Try the "Oxford Discovery" and other links from http://www.cunard.com/OurShips/default.asp?Ship=QM2&main=onb&sub=epr But they lie, at least they did to us in early May this year when they said that John Cleese would be on the May 23 crossing; he wasn't, he was in Australia. kevankiki Posted September 14, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 14, 2006 The "Enrichment Program" link doesn't appear to work on the QE2 part of the cunard.co.uk site. What I did before our cruise as to email Cunard World Club and they were able to provide me with the information a few weeks beforehand.
spinnaker Posted September 14, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted September 14, 2006 Thanks for the suggestions. pb82 - I think I'll give that link a miss if their info is so inaccurate. What a shame for you to be told John Cleese would be there only to find he was in OZ! Liv4cruzin - Unfortunately that only works for the QM2 and not the QE2, but thanks anyway - I shall know what to do when I (eventually!) book a cruise on QM2 Kevankiki - Good suggestion. I think this is what I shall have to do. Alternatively, of course, I could just be patient - but it's so hard when you're counting down the days to a cruise isn't it?! Liv4cruzin Posted September 14, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 14, 2006 Sorry y'all. I had only used this method for info on QM2. Didn't realize info wasn't given for QE2.
spinnaker Posted September 14, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted September 14, 2006 No problem! Thanks for the tip anyway - it'll come in handy when booking a (hoped for!) QM2 cruise next year
dtwtraveler Posted September 19, 2006 #9 Share Posted September 19, 2006 Is it possible to find out in advance of a cruise or crossing who the guest speakers / authors etc. will be on that particular voyage ? I called Cunard to find out who the speakers were going to be on the QE2. They had more details closer to our sailing.
