Galveston Causeway -- short shutdown Sunday morning!

Last one took about 20 minutes. They're blowing up parts of the old causeway. Be aware that this is not the last closure- there will be more! Traffic backed up to Exit 10 the first time, then Exit 8 the last time, but they got everyone moving quicker. They stop all traffic, as soon as everyone clears the bridge, they blow the explosives, then they have some guy in a pickup run the length of the bridge to check for debris, once clear, they radio the mainland side, and release the traffic. Not bad at all.
