Water Logger Posted September 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2006 I'm sailing on the Regatta Oct.6, 14 day, Barcelona to Venice. Has anyone else sailed this time of year on a similar cruise? Whats the weather like? Were there any troubles with the ports you had to tender into? If you can't tender in do they just leave the ship anchored or do they cruise around? Sorry for the silly questions!:p Ally
digby Posted September 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2006 We get on the Regatta on 10/20 in Venice and sail to Barcelona. I found weatherbase.com helpful in getting some idea of what the weather might be like along the way.

Andee Posted September 26, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 26, 2006 We've done two Oceania Med cruises in October and wore everything from shorts, Ts and sandals to shoes, socks, jeans, long sleeve shirts and rain jackets. When we couldn't tender in Amalfi, we docked in Naples. In Dubrovnik, we tendered to the old city in the morning, but the seas became rough, and the ship had to move to a dock in the new city, so Oceania provided buses to get us to the ship at the end of the day. digby Posted September 26, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2006 "in Dubrovnik, we tendered to the old city in the morning" If you don't want to take any tour (been there before) and just want to walk around the city, are there shuttle buses from where the tender lands to the main part of the city which is up much higher than the water level? Tina G Posted September 30, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 30, 2006 You might try going to the destination Europe board for answers to your questions. Enjoy your cruise!
